Jo Tacchi

Jo Tacchi is a social anthropologist specializing in ethnographic research on old and new media technologies at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCI) based in Brisbane, Australia. Her current research activities seek to forge new and develop existing international connections and networks with a focus on ‘creative engagement’ with old and new media technologies. Her work seeks to have a direct impact on the development agenda, and to inform the creative industries and innovation agenda.

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCI) was established in 2005. The first Centre of Excellence funded outside the science, engineering and technology sectors, it has an ambitious research agenda organized around three themes: creative innovation (content, IT, design, BPM, enterprise), innovation policy (innovation policy, law, economics) and creative human capital (industry, education, workforce, consumers).
