Rose Reuben
MEDIeA project:
Media Ethnography of Adolescent Tanzanian Women
Rose Reuben is currently a PhD candidate at the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS), University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. She is conducting research on the impact of communication for social change, focusing on challenges to girl’s education in Tanzania.
She is a former Senior Program Officer at HIVOS Tanzania and the Tanzania Media Fund (TMF), as well as the Project and Principle Journalist of Tanzania Broadcasting Corporation (TBC). She is aso the Chairperson of Tanzania Media Women’s Association (TAMWA). In stages of growth as a civil organization, TAMWA has strongly emerged with a clear focus of attaining its vision of an existence of a peaceful organization, which respects human rights, particularly focusing on gender and gender issues. TAMWA is involved in a number of social transformation interventions, while their core approach continues to be media advocacy. Their mission calls us to ensure that media work stimulates communities, policy makers, and leaders at different levels.
Rose has substantive experience in journalism on development issues, gender and politics, among others.
